10 small sustainable tips on how you can make a bigger difference!

22 October 2019

Because we at Max's Mints believe in 'many small choices together make a big difference', we have written down a number of small sustainable tips in this blog that together we can hopefully make a big difference!

  1. Washable cotton pads. This means you have less waste and you can easily wash them with the rest of the laundry. For example, by clicking on this link.
  2. Take a bag (with fruit and vegetable bags) with you to the supermarket. Saves money and plastic again. Win-win, right? For example, by clicking on this or this link.
  3. Reuse a water bottle. Always bring your own bottle of water. That saves a lot of plastic! For example, by clicking on this link.
  4. Iron straws. Plastic straws are often too small to be recycled and end up on the beach or in the stomachs of animals. Iron straws are a small step in the right direction. For example, by clicking on this link.
  5. Take a stroll or bike! Will the distances become slightly larger? Then take the train (largely electric) or carpool.
  6. Sustainable laundry and cleaning products. For example, by clicking on this link.
  7. Compensate when you fly. There are plenty of websites that allow you to plant a number of trees to slightly reduce CO2 emissions. For example, by clicking on this link.
  8. The library. Seen a nice book that you would like to read? First check whether they have the book at the library!
  9. In winter, take a nice cup of tea and a blanket on the couch and turn the heating down a little.
  10. Does it take a while for the tap to heat up? Collect the water and use it for the plants.
